Aim is to build fitness, speed and reaction time. We want to encourage players to react better and chase back if they lose the ball. 1. Blue starts marker about from 5-10m away from cone where yellow is standing. 2. when blue gets to cone he has to pause and touch the ground, given yellow a split second head start as he runs towards start. blue has to try and get back to start before yellow. 3. Progression 1 - yellow has ball and blue has to try and tackle. 4. Progression 2 - yellow has ball and there is goal at starter; blue has to get in front of yellow in order to defend goal. move marker further away from goal if needs be.
