This is an out of possession drill. Arrival Game. The objective is to allow the boys to experience 1 on one situations. Primary focus is defense, attackers also get practice taking on players. Blue A and Red A start at position 1. Blue attacks with ball, Red A must come forward to meet blue but not tackle, Red must delay Blue as long as possible with an aim of forcing Blue over White or Orange boundary. If delayed for 10 seconds or ball goes out of bounds Blue scores. If Red can pass blue and cross red line Red scores. Once complete players should continue to take next turn from position 2.
Explain basic rules of game. Let boys come up with strategies to slow down the attackers. If individuals are being unsuccessful, use qestioning to let them come up with ways of defending in a different way. After 5 minutes, Reds become attackers and Blues become defense.
