This excercise will ensure better team cohesion when defending corners. Practicing this technique will familiarise players with the runs they need to make and the positions they need to stick to when the opposing team have a corner kick.
The penalty box will be flooded with players. Two full backs will sit on the front & back posts respectively. The two central defenders will sit just outside the 6 yard box to mark opposing players and intercept the ball. Should the opposing team float a short cross to the near post/or a long ball to the far post, the central defender will run towards the edge of the 18 yard box to meet the ball and the full back on the post will move to fill the hole. One striker will sit in midfield ready to counter attack.
