Finding space to pass and receive

Excellent site with easy to navigate pages.
Lawrence

DESCRIPTION

  • Very simple triangle, I suggest - 6 yards between each cone
  • In groups of three
  • Blue player one (with the ball) stays stationary. Red defender stays stationary and blue player two will be working.
  • Blue player one will pass to blue player two in the space he has found himself.
  • When BP2 receives the ball his first touch will take him to the opposite side of the defender and he will play back into BP1. BP1 will return the pass immediately and BP2 will go the opposite way.
  • Swap roles accordingly

COACHING POINTS

  • The main coaching points arre around BP2
  • Get set for the pass
  • A good first touch out of your feet
  • Accurate pass back
  • Good movement in behind the defender
