3v1 Attacking Drill

DESCRIPTION

3v1 drill with no goalie.  Three lines of attackers and 1 line of defenders.

  1. Defender serves a ball to any of the three attackers.
  2. Defender goes out to pressure the players
  3. Attackers must spreadout and work to score on the net.
  4. If the defender wins the ball they pass or dribble the ball through the orange gates.

Progressions:

  • Require a number of passes before shooting
  • Adding shoot line that they need to cross before shooting
  • Add a second defender

COACHING POINTS

Attackers must:

  • Use the width of the space
  • central player must be offset high or deep to provide passing angles
  • Should attack with pace with the dribble/pass
  • Look to dribble if given space
  • Score if they are given an opportunity to shoot
  • Players without the ball need to move to create angles to pass
  • Communication between attackers
  • With a second defender attackers will need to run and pass into space behind defenders.
