THE START OF THIS PRACTICE IS FOR A LOFTED BALL TO BE PLAYED INTO THE BOX WHERE A PLAYER HAS TWO TOUCHES TO TAKE THE BALL DOWN AND THEN DELIVER A CROSS INTO THE STRIKERS FEET. THE BALL MUST NOT GO OUTSIDE OF THE SQUARE ON THE PLAYERS FIRST TOUCH.
WHEN THE STRIKER RECEIVES THE BALL THE PLAYER MUST PIN THE PLAYER AND TRY TO SCORE OR TRY AND GET A GOOD ENOUGH FIRST TOUCH TO BE ABLE TO BEAT HIS MAN AND THEN SCORE.
Coaching Points
TO PROGRESS THE DRILL THE PLAYER IN THE BOX WILL NOW TRY TO LOSE HIS MARKER TO CREATE MORE TIME AND SPACE FOR HIM TO TAKE THE BALL DOWN. THE PLAYER WHO NOW PLAYS THE LOFTED PASS WILL NOW MAKE A MIDFIELD RUN INTO THE BOX TO OFFER SUPPORT TO THE STRIKER.
