Pre-season stations

DESCRIPTION

6 stations @ 6 minutes each station and players form pairs for the :

Station 1 - Is running in pairs doing laps of the ground. Starting in the bottom corner players jog from the white cones and pick up to min. 3/4 pace at the yellow cones, reduce to a jog from the white cone etc 

Station 2 -  Will need adjustment/maybe duplication depending on numbers.

a) In their pairs for the first minute they leap the cones then leap back, control & volley (can be header or first time volley) to their partner then swap and partner goes.

b) Player starts with the ball at one of the 4 points of the diamond, they dribble to and around the middle cone, then around the next outer cone and back around the middle etc.. then swaps with partner

Station 3 - Do each station 3 times (1 minute each and swap)

a) Both partners work together. They go quick feet through the ladder in opposite directions got to the cone and do a diagonal 1-2 with their partner and go again

b) Suicides with the ball. Player at one end and partner at the other end. Player 1 starts with the ball and dribbles to and leaves the ball at the first cone, goes back to the start, runs to the 2nd cone gathering the ball on the way and leaves it at the 2nd cone and runs back to start and then runs to end cone gathering the ball on the way and giving to partner who does the same thing the other way. Player 1 will have to walk to the other end to swap with their partner when they're done

Station 4 - one or two players work at the same time. Players working leap the cone towards player on the outside and receive throw and volley (or control & volley) back to player then run to the 2nd cone, 3rd and 4th cones to do the same thing. Pairs carry on for a minute and then swap with pair on the outside

Station 5 - Rotate twice through these 3 stations

a) (1 min then move to b) Short/sharp sprints starting in the middle, sprint to one end, back through the middle cones to the other end and then back through to the other side.. then partner goes

b) (1 minute then move to c) In pairs one players stays on a side cone, makes a short pass and receives it back on the other side of the cone, player in middle runs backwards, gets the next (longer) pass etc until they reach the end cone. they then make their way forward in the same vein and then swap with partner

c) (one minute then move to a) one player at a time quickly dribbles toward and through the middle cones, rounds the end cone and dribbles back through the middle cones to pass/swap with other player

Station 6 - Rotate 3 times through these 2 stations 

a)  Player throws a high ball for their partner to control and they quickly dribble around a side cone and pass back to their partner, they do again to the other side cone etc for the full minute & swap with partner 

b) Similar but player and partner conrol the ball however it comes in the middle of the triangle and round an outer cone then do so for the other two returning the ball to their partner in between rounding each cone
