DESCRIPTION

Warm Up - Fast feet Drills and Skills - Under 7's

Sprints - 3 x Sprints across the width of the pitch - 30 Seconds rest in-between each sprint

Toe Taps - Left & Right foot

Sweep the Decks - Left & Right foot 

Step Over's - Left & Right foot 

Drag Back - Left & Right foot

Shield the Ball 

COACHING POINTS

Sprints 

  • Encourage breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth

Toe Taps 

  • Focus on balance, agility, touch
  • Ensure that the players are on their toes

Sweep the Decks

  • Encourage close control ensuring that the player never loses control of the ball
  • Ensure that the Player's are on their toes

Step Over's 

  • Encourage fast movements and explosive acceleration into space once the player has performed the skill
  • Encourage Player's to perform the skill as they are dribbling and in one fluid motion

Drag Back

  • Encourage Player's to use the sole of their boot
  • Encourage Player's to change direction at speed

Shield the Ball 

  • Ensure that Player's protect the ball using their body strength and with the focus on bending at the knees
