4 v 4 + 4 target players
To score a point each team are to receive the ball from the target player, maintain possession and pass the ball to one of the other target players at the opposite end of the box. The opposing team are to try and win the ball and achieve the same objective.
Condition - double points when the number 4 recieves the ball and plays a forward pass into the target player.
Target players permitted 2 touch only!!
First team to score 10 points wins.
Progression - introduce goals and make the target players 1 x keeper, 2 x def and 1 x striker.
Body shape to receive the ball - on the half turn
Start high to create space.
Awareness and movement from the team in possession to exploit forward passing opportunities.
Curved runs, arm out, safe side to ensure ball retention.
Off the ball movement from defending team to win the ball.
Managing transition from being out of possession to winning possession and vice versa!!
