Counter Attacking from the center: 5v2
In the square over the center circle will be 4 attackers ( Red) v 2 defenders ( blue). Defenders will start with the ball and retain possesion for as long as possible. When the attackers win possesion in the box they must instantly think about playing a quick pass to the striker to create a counter attack. As soon as the ball is played towards the striker , one of the two defenders can attack the striker to try and win possesion. While the defenders anticipate this move the 4 attackers within the square can make a quick run in to the box to create a 5v2 situation and exploit the space created from one of the defenders attacking the striker. The two defenders in the square must remain in the box once the ball has left. If a goal scoring opportunity arises for the attacking team in the penalty box, players must be encouraged to take the chance. If defenders retain possesion encourage them to clear the ball out on to the flanks or up field.
