DESCRIPTION

Warm up for individuals that makes use of the ball & dynamic stretching. Can be advanced into a drill more focused on dribbling than stretching. 

Example circuits:

  • Jog the route without the ball to familiarize 
  • Dribble right foot to next cone & stop the ball, dynamic hamstring stretch/walk to next cone etc. 
  • Dribble left foot
  • Dribble both feet
  • Roll overs
  • Step-overs etc.

Dynamic stretches should include the main leg muscle groups.

  • Calves
  • Hamstrings
  • Quads
  • Groin

COACHING POINTS

Dribbling technique & control over the ball is of paramount importance. 

Can use various types of turn around the cone (with the ball) before stopping the ball.
