DESCRIPTION

  1. The area used for previous drill is split into 2 adjacent small pitches.
  2. Each pitch is split in 1/2 creating a 1 v1 and a 2 v 2 with one player acting as a floater.
  3. Overload scenario is created with the floater playing with the team in possession, i.e 1 v 1 becomes a 2 v 1 and the 2 v 2 becomes a 3 v 2.
  4. Each team in possession tries to make passes before finding their team mate in the opposite 1/2.
  5. Floater is always in play.
  1. Focus on the body positioning of the defender in an overload situation, focus on principals discussed previously in the session.
  2. Focus on how quickly each team can win possession back after they've lost it.
  3. 6 passes for a point.
  4. Encourage a quick switch of the ball to other side after 6 passes are complete.
