Cross and finish (set piece)

Very good interactive coaching drills.
Matt

DESCRIPTION

Players will start in a queue behind a designated cone. One at a time, players will run down the wing with the ball and cross it into the box (around penalty spot). Another team mate will be waiting here to take a touch and shoot at goal. The player who took the cross will take the position of the person in the box, and the person in the box who took the shot will collect their ball and join the back of the queue. After a while, the drill will progress and players will be challenged to take the shot first time. This will require a higher level of accuracy. They may do so via a head or volley shot. The final progression will be to add a goalkeeper, but this will only happen if the drill becomes too easy and if time is not restricted.

1. Head over the ball when volleying.

2. Connect with laces on boot.

3. use neck muscles to drive headers.
