DESCRIPTION

Center mid checks back off defender to receive ball. he then runs at one of the defenders guarding a wing. The wing checks off of that defender making an arc'd run. Center mid plays throughball. Wing runs on to ball attacking the goal and strikes.

Follow your pass. Center mid replaces wing, wing collects ball and heads to the back of the line.

Progression: Center mid checks back, plays immediate back pass, curved run to receive the ball, then plays throughball.

Progression: Rather than playing close wing, he plays the opposite side wing to try to catch defense off guard.

COACHING POINTS

Create Space: Players need to check off the flag to create space for themselves. Wings need to create a lot of space in their arc'd run in order to stay onsides for the throughball.

Receiving the ball in a threatening position: Receive the ball with your upfield foot. You open yourself up to see attacking players.

Proper Runs/Ball: Wings need to make angled run toward the goal, CM plays a straight leading ball.
