DESCRIPTION

  • Wide link game, encouraging inside runs from wide players
  • Ball starts with 1 of 2 strikers, who play into midfield player on side of mannequin, ball then travels to CB, who can play to full back and then WM or to WM or to no9 coming in for a link.

COACHING POINTS

  • Coach midfield players quick touch pass in link of double diagonal.
  • CB receiving with an open body and punching pass into pocket between mannequins or breaking imaginary line to FB.
  • FB judging whether to play inside run off 1 or 2 touches, or whether to go beyond last line after link.
  • WM whether to make inside run or link and then cut back quality or flat cross quality.
  • 2 no9s movement, 1st runner across 1st post, 2nd runner for cut back.
