Set Up:
Create a playing area that suits that age and ability of the players you are working with.
Split the group into two teams. For each team there are two players who start on the outiside of the playing area as the diagram suggests.
The objective is for the team in possession to combine and aintain possession playing into one of their outside players. Each successful pass to an outside player can be counted as a goal.
No inside player is allowed out of the playing area and no target player can enter the playing space.
Progression:
The target player on the outside after receiving a pass enters and becomes a player inside of the grid. The player who passed into the target player becomes the new target player.
The opposition target players are allowed to mark each other. This impacts upon decision making and having the ability to read the game. Deciding when to mark and being available for passes when their team is back in possession.
Coaching Points:

Passes need to have good weight and direction to avoid them being either intercepted or being wayward. Players need use a variety of passes and having disguise to not make intensions obvious to opponents.
Movement
Players need have to create space for themselves or others by the ways in which they move. Players need to learn that they have to move more times to create passing angles.
First Touch
Players need to have a good first touch to be able to maintain possession. Players need to be able to control the ball at any height, speed, direction using any surface.
Awareness
Players need good awareness to assess the situation around them. Players need to check their shoulders often before receiving the ball to take pictures to positively impact upon decisions when in possession.
Communication
Players need to be able to communicate with each other. Which can be done through verbal communication, eye contact or gestures.
Support play
Players need to be willing to move into position of support for the player in possession. How often can they become the easest pass for the player in possession?
