Defensive Alley 1 V 2 Pressure/Cover

Make 2 to three “Alleys” (depending on Size of Teams) Cones 20 x 25 Yards Long by 15-20 Yards Wide (adjust width and length depending on age, and skill level.  Be willing to make adjustments mid session) Offense at one end of Alley Defense at the other end Split offense and defense into two groups for the different alleys Clockwise rotation of which alley everyone is in so everyone can do offense and defense.  Defense plays the ball to the offensive player Offensive player attempts to dribble past the two defensive players in the Alley Offense wins if they get to the other end with the ball.  Must dribble past line Defense wins if they take the ball or knock it out of the alley before offensive player gets to the end line Stress proper pressure-Cover shape Proper defensive position Not getting split Communicating between the two defenders Add a 2nd offensive players so its 2 v 2 Add a 3rd offensive players so its 3 v 2 This teaches the defense how to use pressure cover when they have an advantage, even strength, and when offense has the advantage * Variation* For older age groups or larger teams Add in a 3rd or 4th defender.  Get much larger groups Add in an offsides line Teach full defensive shape Triangle Pressure Cover Nike Swoosh
