DESCRIPTION

  • This is a progression from the 6v6 posession drill.
  • 4v4 with wide players and 2 goalkeepers.
  • introduce goals to make it realistic.
  • the idea of the wide players is to add the option of a wall pass or a cross into the box.

COACHING POINTS

  • along with sustaining good possession it requires end product by finishing in the goals.
  • communication is vital for this drill.
  • high tempo is also required.
  • wide players are only allowed two touches of the ball where as the players on the inside have unlimited touches. 

further progresions:

  • two touches on inside 
  • progress to 9v9 depending on number of players.
