Paper Golf

Love the site, it's a fantastic learning tool!

DESCRIPTION

The players recieve shuttlecock, a pen and a piece of paper. Each player throws the shuttle cock and record how many times it would take to reach the each target in a specific zone. The person with the least amount throws at the end of the session total wins.

COACHING POINTS

  • Evaluation. The difficulty increases in each zone with the spaces inbetween expanding and obstables appearing.

  • A negative aspect of the coaching session was that it was quite difficult for four players to participate around the course without having to wait for someone to get through a zone. If I had to repeat this session I would allow one player to begin the paper golf course and enter the end of zone 1 until another player could start.

  • Reflecting on this session, I could observe that the participations enjoyed Paper Golf, however the a few players chose to cheat and others felt disheartened when they did not win. If i was in the coach educators position, I would advice the coaches to not add the winning element to this session and discourage cheating by announcing cheating will result in picking up the cones at the end. This makes the session fair as the group will have a range of abilities.
