Creating Overloads - P1

Very good interactive coaching drills.
Matt

DESCRIPTION

This session encourages players to play back to open up to be able play forward. Each exercise works on reaction time, speed of play, awareness, first touch, decision making and also defensive principles.

The exercise can be used for GKs to feel more comfortable at playing out with their feet. Also the 4v2 and 4v3 exercises can be great to work with Defensive Midfielder.

COACHING POINTS

Players should react to the ball being played in by the coach.

The player who gets to the ball first cshould use the goalkeeper/deep player to create a 2v1.

The two players are now trying to score in the two small goals.

If the defending player wins the ball back he is trying to score past the goalkeeper in the big net.
