Love the site, it's a fantastic learning tool!
Ian

DESCRIPTION

Set up squares apprx 10x10 - Adjust if necessary

Play 3V1 inside the box for 1/2 mins

2 or 3 touch only

Try and get to 10 passes

After 90 secs change defender (keep high intensity)

PROGRESSION

Players are allowed to go inside the 'safety zone' but defender must stay in middle square

Increase the size of the area and play 2 x 4V2. If a player steps into the safety zone then the whole team must do the same and a ball can be knocked in the air to another play

COACHING POINTS

Simple / Early / Quick passes

3 Looks - 1st if you THINK you will receive the ball - 2nd Look if you KNOW you will receive the ball - 3rd look when the BALL IS ON IT'S WAY to you

1 touch if you CAN - 2 touch if you NEED to - 3 touch if you HAVE to

Good first touch - Kill the ball so that it stays close to you.

Keep the ball near to your strongest foot to give you opportunity to do more with it if you need to

Use your body to protect the ball - Turn away from defender

Do I need a touch straight away? - Can I let the ball go across my body into space?

Can you pass 1st time?

Can you go past the defender before making a pass?
