Warm up drill for player contact or tackling session.
Split into equal groups.
Players run forward and make contact with the hit shield with one shoulder then back pedal to start. Players then run forward and make contact with the hit shield using the other shoulder. The players then back pedal to the start then run forward, the player should hand off/push off the hit shield on the way to tackling the tackle bag.
Once each player has performed this sequence they should reset the tackle bag and swap positions with the hit shield holders.
Hit shields should be held so the top of the pad is in line with shoulders.
Tackles should be controlled not torpedoes.
Option to have player quickly regain feet and jackal over the tackle bag.
