To understand the attacking structure of A, B, C - 3 player pod at the breakdown.
To keep defence honest, with A and B running straight and away from the ruck to generate quick ball. Running at Spaces, not faces.
When breakdown occurs and ruck is formed, first player not in the ruck gets into position of "A", hands up. Players fill into pod "B" and "C". Hopefully playmaker at "C". All scanning to see whats in front of them.
Scrum Half listens to players call on who wants to recieve the ball.
Player in A should always be ready to recieve and if nothing called, is getting the ball. Can call "Tip" with scrum half knowing where the ball is going to if they want.
If Player "B" is running forward and sees a gap, opportunity to break the line, shouts "Tip" to "A"
If player "C" wants ball from "A" as space outside to attack/numbers, missmatch etc runs outside "B", shouts "tip". PLayer "A" passes out the back of "B"
High B - Player in "B" sees a gap, runs a hard line to attack space in defence, screams "B", scrum half misses "A"
Player "C" wants ball straight from ruck, shouts "tip", "A" and "B" still run hard lines to fix defenders.
Aim for players to get the structure right first.
Scanning to see what is in front of them
Make the right decision call based on what they see.
"A" an "B" run hard straight lines to fix defenders to stop them from drifting.
Run at Spaces, not Faces.
Players not in the first A, B, C set up, look to get ready for next one.
