DESCRIPTION

12 Crash Ball following a pass directly from the 9.

COACHING POINTS

  • 12 stands slightly flatter than they normally would to facilitate the skip pass.
  • This move requires the 12 to pick a hard line, either back towards the gap between 10 & 12 OR the gap between 12 & 13. Run straight and cut at the last moment to attack soft branches instead of the trunk.
  • Depending on the angle of the run, the clearout needs to come from 11, 13 or loose forwards.
  • Perfect from first phase, this move should be used 2 or 3 times to draw defenders before switching it for a Green Plus or Green Minus.
  • (Tip) It is important that the 12 calls loudly for the ball, in order to make the opposition expect a simple crash in the future. It can also be useful to let the opposition know this is a Green Ball in order to fool them with a Plus or Minus option later.
