Improving the 12/13 partnership and get them improving chat to 10 (getting the right info to them?
1. Set up 3 channels like in picture and get your 10, 12, 13 to stand in them like picture.
2. Have you 9 set up outside the channels.
3. Start of with no defenders and getting the players to work out their spacing and cue for when they need to start running after 9 has passed to 10.
4. Encourage them to be creative switch pass, miss pass etc etc.
DEVELOPMENT
- Add two defenders. One to pressurise 10, the other to run into the channel of either 12 or 13. The 10 now has to assess what's in front of him and deliver a pass to the player in space. (Red in Picture)
- Increase or reduce the distances that the defence comes up from. After all, in a match the defence won't always be in your team's space quickly, and sometimes they may arrive from an offside position. (Grey in the picture)
- As another part of the process, don't let either 12 or 13 call for the ball. Let 10 recognise the space himself and pass into the expected path of the player.
