defensive structure

Your tips and session ideas have really brought some interest back...
Eifion, Rugby Coach

DESCRIPTION

  • Set out three "rucks" (piles of tackle bags) and number them 1, 2 and 3 and put a ball at the back of each.
  • split your players into two equal groups, attackers and defenders
  • call out a number, 1, 2 or 3. the teams move to the ruck and try to win the ball. The defence must move up in a straight line and at the same speed.
  • Once the attack is stopped or is successful (crosses over the advantage line), call a new number. the players have to run to that ruck leaving the first ball behind.
