Scrum-Half Slip Ball

Sportplan rugby has played a large role in my team's love for the...

DESCRIPTION

A move that can be used to creat an overlap from a scrum/lineout

The idea of it is to use your scrum half to create an extra man. 9 takes the ball from a scrum, passes to 10, 12 then makes a hard run on the inside shoulder of the opposition 12, drawing that defender in. 10 slips the ball back out to 9, who is running a "loop" run, from there it's a simple draw and pass. Fullback will need to join the line on attack.

You do also have the option of a blindside winger to join the line to create a 2 man overlap

COACHING POINTS

Draw and passing skills are key to this.
12 has to be a convincing runner, maybe use a 12 crash ball a few times through your game.
