Attacking player carries ball towards defender, who is holding a tackle pad, attacker then turns body towards towards own team once contact is made. Attacking player remains on feet and defender stands ground supporting weight with tackle pad. Next attacking player arrives at Maul and rips ball from own player and turns body towards own team. This player can now make a pass or wait until next player arrives who takes ball from Maul and must make a pass. If ball is not recycled within 5 seconds then ball is awarded to defending team.
Points to remember
1. Ball carrier must remain on feet and turn body away from defender towards own team.
2. Defending player to stand ground and support weight with tackle pad.
3. Arriving attacker to rip ball from own player and turn towards own team and either make a pass or hand to next player to make a pass. Again pick and go is not allowed.
