This video shows a clip taken from a rugby match. The quality of the video is good, allowing clear viewing, although it was filmed with out the use of a tripod leading to slight shakes during the recording. Due to the weather conditions on the day the whole recording is slightly dark. Because of the size of the field and no zoom function the action on the far side of the pitch is difficult to see. During the footage both a substitute and a rope are caught in the shot causing a distraction away from the game footage.
In order to film better footage there is a few changes that could be included. The first would be to use a tripod setup in order to ensure steady footage throughout. The action needs to be brought closer to the camera when recording drills, so it can be easily identified what is going on. As well as this extra players, in this case the sub, need to be removed from the footage. In order to avoid the catching the rope in the shot a raised platform would allow a greater overhead view. This angle would be more effective for showing the lay out of drills as well as running lines of all the participants and not just those closest to the camerea. It would also be benificial to record the whole video in one angle to keep a continuous background and reference points, to allow a coach to better understand the layout and purpose of the drill.
