The miss ball involves 3 people. The first man sets off, follwed in turn by the other 2. The first man then passes the ball to the end man, missing out the middle. The point of this is to confuse the opposition by them not knowing what will happen after, either a pass inside to the middle man or a continuation of the run from the end man.
