Anticipating The Pass

I found this service to be excellent and it was of great help when...
Jo, Netball Coach

DESCRIPTION

Stand in a square or triangle (depending on how many people there are) with a line behind each point and one ball between all of you.

The people at the front of the queue are the feeders (the attackers). These people will pass to each other in a random order.

The people in the queue behind them (the defenders) must anticipate the pass and get in front of their feeder fast enough to intercept the ball.

If the defenders get the ball, they immeadiately pass it to an attacker (feeder). If the attacker gets the ball, they pass it on.

Once your intercept attempt has been made (whether successsful or not) you rejoin the back of your queue.

Change the feeders every 2 minutes.

COACHING POINTS

Tips:

- Keep on your toes, bouncing on your spot to move off faster

- Always watch the ball and the attacker who has it. Where are they looking? What foot do they step with?

- Always be alert. Remember, the ball could go anywhere.
