The thrower starts with the ball with a defender positioned with hands over, 3 feet away.

Their defender shadows and calls “left”, “right”, “side” or “middle” as soon as the attacker starts leadinign. The hands over defender reacts to the call by moving their fee, body and arms in that direction., forcing the thrower to pass a little higher. The higher pass gives the shadowing defender a better chance of intercepting.
