DESCRIPTION

Technique;

- Backwards movement; Eyes are always on the ball, body in the ready position --> what is the ready position (recap)? Keep base wide (why?) to prevent tripping yourself up, lead backwards with one leg, similar to sidestepping, but in a diagonal type fashion. Switch leg after a couple of moves backward. Signal with the hand for a ball.

- Change of direction; Body weight over base, knees and ankles flexed; eyes on the ball and thrower; run forward, and plant the outside foot (which foot is the outside foot?) and drive in the opposite direction; turn the hips for the drive in the direction of the sprint; knees high to drive the sprint; use the hand to indicate for the ball.

- Change of speed; Keep the body upright in the jog/slower pace (why upright?); use a couple of smaller steps to intiate the sprint; indicate with outstretched hand for the ball.
