DESCRIPTION

Set up:

  • Players to work in pairs (one feeder and one receiver)

Managment tasks:

  • Demonstarte how to set up the cones (as per diagram) and how to complete the drill with one student, whilst the other students are observing
  • Send one student from each pair to collect 1 ball and 4 cones.

Explanations:

  1. Set the cones up as per the demonstration
  2. The feeder stands at the tip of the triangle and the receiver stands in the middle cone facing away from the thrower
  3. The receiver is to turn around, and lead to one of the side cones
  4. The feeder is to react quickly and throw the ball in front of the receiver
  5. After the ball is caught it is returned to the feeder
  6. Complete 10 times then swap

  1. Same set up
  2. However, the feeder commands the receiver when to turn around and throws the ball in either direction
  3. The receiver needs to react quickly to catch the ball
  4. Complete 10 times then swap
