Goal 1: improve sweep hit with focus on:
- ball feet position
- 2 hands together
- stick half circle
Goal 2: learn tactics always 2 pp in guard to transfer ball over dangerous zone
Exercise
* 3 goals, see picture
* 2 groups : 1 of 7 pp / 1 of 8 pp
* 1 group between midline-23 / 1 group between backline-23 line
* focus on improving sweep hit
* No 1-4 try to score by dribbling through empty goal A B or C, using the sweep hit to transfer the ball.
* if no 1-4 dribble through goals, they turn around and can score on goal / 23 line (for group between midline-23 area). Thus 4-2 all the time.
* 2 defenders on the turf + 1 or 2 reserves on side line. If defenders in the turf get the ball, they need to try to score on opposite line/goal or (or goals). IMPORTANT: the reserves can step into the turf and join the other defenders to score!! If they are succesfull= new defenders.
NB half way exercises ask them:
a) how many playeres do you need to get ball transfered over dangerous zone= 2 : on each side dangerous zone 1.
b) ask them which positions have this task: free man/sweeper couple centre mid - free man couple / cenre mid -mid helpside etc.
Sweep hit Focus
* 2 hands together, double V grip top of stick (if ball goes high always grip problem)
* ball levels with the front left foot, feet in running position.
* left foot 1 stick length away from ball
* stick describes half circle around body = the sweep when ball is being played
* ball being played with shaft of stick
Tacic rule: you need 2 guard players to transfer the ball from ball to help side where space is, Both players stand on 1 side of dangerous zone
