Goal:
teach blocktackle with focus on:
- "prey tactics"
- big lunge forward
-shoving your stick against the ball (no hacking)
Exercise:
* couples, 1 ball. Each couple on small turf.
* every time do games of 1, 1.5 or 2 minutes and start over again.
* Ask them when you do a block tackle (crowed or circle) + how to do it.
Game 1:
* defender 1,5 stick length away from attacker
* attacker has ball and does the Indian Dribble while standing still.
* defender has to wait till attacker makes mistake (loose ball control)and then quickly do blocktackle and try to score in Goal A.
* if attacker takes ball again he can try to score in goal B. Then game over, swab roles
Game 2:
* defender 4/5 m away with ball. He plays ball to attacker then game starts.
* attacker scores by dribbling goal line B
* defender runs along, needs to learn to wait till attacker makes mistake. If he gets ball, score in goal A.
* then game over and swab roles
BLOCKTACKLE
When : in small spaces (crowed) and circle you want to defend with your whole stick, covering lots of space + your feet.
Goal block tackle: the opponent thinks he is far enough from you, but all of the sudden you step forward, limit the space between you two and block the ball with your whole stick.
The prey tactic: wait till opponent makes mistake, then attack
The block tackle skill:
* 2 hands, V grip, hands apart to be strong
* 1 feet forward, 1 feet backwards like you are going to run
* Suddenly one big lunge forward and stretching stick out to ball. Shaft stick against ball. Left hand on the ground, wrist tight.
