Preparation:
Place four tyres or similar targets around the D
Place 20 balls outside the top of the D
Exercise:
Keeper in set position in goal with coach at top of D
Coach roles or bounces balls into D at different angles and speeds
Keeper attacks ball and needs to clear towards closest tyre
Upgrades:
You can replace the tyres with the other goalkeepers or with defenders that move around.
Add attackers into the mix with defenders and have the keeper pass to the defender if possible. If not he needs to clear to safety.
Outcome:
Sharpen the accuracy of the keeper’s clearances
Raise the awareness level of the keeper
Use the keeper as an attacking player under suitable circumstances
Create a resolution to develop your coaching confidence by seizing the opportunity to discover new drills, turn ideas into action and seek advice from the coaching community.
