DESCRIPTION

Basic tackling exercise. The coach starts in the middle, demonstrates the 3 basic types of tackle, front and reverse block and jab.

The coach then shouts each type of tackle and the participants mirror them.

Get one of the participants in to the middle to shout and demonstrate to allow yourself the chance to check and correct technique.

COACHING POINTS

Step into the tackle to create a solid base.
Front - Step forward, both hands on the stick, create a barrier
Reverse - Step out to left, hands touching the ground to create a barrier
Jab - Step forward of either foot, reach forward and jab the ball with only your left hand on the stick.
