DESCRIPTION

Coaching points (strong side):

  • Ball out in front away from the feet.
  • Pancake grip can be used.
  • Check the ball if needed to gain lift.
  • Feet should be continuously moving forward (fluid motion).
  • Small lift (enough to go over a stick).
  • Ball lines up with the right foot or beyond.

Coaching points (reverse side)

  • Similar to the strong side above.
  • Ball lines up with the left foot or beyond.
  • Some players prefer a small pull left before lifting.
  • Begininng to use more of the toe to lift the ball if using a small pull.

Common mistakes

  • Arms and feet do not work at the same time (lacking fluidity).
  • Ball is lifted to high.
  • Not feeling the ball on the end of the stick.
