Goal keeper shot variance

Great site. An absolute must for coaches who are willing to change...
Ignatius

DESCRIPTION

Feeder has a number of balls and utilises a variance of shots that will be randomly selected.

The feeder should mix up shots by aiming for different areas of the goal as well as mixing up shot selection through hits, flicks and squeeze shots.

After every several shots the feeder should test the footwork of the goal keeper by entering a 1v1 shootout style approach with the goalie. The aim here for the goalie is to cover the ball whilst not over committing.

COACHING POINTS

Get a good variance of shots that pushes the goalie to be ready for anything.

Focus on accurately clearing the ball whilst avoiding actions that over commit the goalie leaving them vulnerable for the rebound.
