DESCRIPTION

Objective: Pulse raiser to prepare players for the session both physically and mentally.

Detail:

  • Mark out a 20 x 20 grid and split into quarters (10 x 10).
  • Split the group into 4 teams (2 x blue & 2 x red).
  • Position each team in a quarter with a football between them.
  • Players in each team are numbered 1 - 4.
  • Pass the ball in a sequence, keeping on the move.
  • Incorporate dynamic stretches (hip flexors, lunges, heel to buttocks, groin flex)
  • Gradually build the intensity of the warm up.
  • Increase muscle temperature.
  • Increase heart rate progressively.
  • Increase muscle flexibility.
  • Players should preform dynamic movements until they feel muscle tightness not pain.
