DESCRIPTION

Objective: Pulse raiser to prepare players physically and mentally for the session ahead.

Detail:

  • Cones are organised on the outside of the area and a number of poles in centre area.
  • Outside cones are organised 20 yards from the centre poles.
  • Distance between each outside cone is 10 yards.
  • Players are split evenly on the outside (in pairs).
  • The players jog in front the outside and perform dynamic movements (e.g. backwards, side wards, jockey, knees, etc).
  • Players then go through a set number of poles as instructed and then accelerate to the next outside cone. Encourage players to drop the should and move through as fast as possible.
  • Progressively build up the intensity until high.
  • Players should perform dynamic movements until they feel muscle tightness not pain.
  • Quality of movements
  • Encourage players to challenge themselves in the speed and intensity that they work at.
