DESCRIPTION

Objective: Pulse raiser to prepare players for the session physically and mentally.

Detail:

  • Mark out a 5 x 5 central box and stick 8 poles out 10 yards circling the box.
  • Distance between each pole is 10 yards.
  • Players work in groups of 2 with 1 player working and 1 player resting.
  • Players from the central box run to their partners at the poles and change over.
  • Players perform dynamic movements (side step, backwards, knees, groins, walking lunges) in and out of the poles,
  • Players are encouraged to change direction & move to different poles.
  • Steadily build up the intensity of the practice.
  • Dynamic movements / stretches should be done until players feel muscle tightness not pain.
  • Technical skills should be well executed.
  • Communication between players.
