using half a pitch with a goal at one end and two goals at the other, split the group into two teams of 6. one team will have a goalkeeper and 5 outfield players with the other team have 6 outfield players.
the team with 6 outfield players will be the attacking team and they will set up in a 5-1 formation, like they would be asked to in a real game. with the defending team setting up in a 4-1 formation. this is because i want the defenders to stay in a normal defending poistion while the 1 midfielder harrasses but give the attacking team some time on the ball to build up play.
the attacking team will have no restrictions on how they want to play. if they want to commit all players forward or if they want to stay patient. however they must remember that they have two goals to defend and if they lose the ball they must try and prevent the counter attack.
the same is said for the defenders it is up to them how they want to defend, if they want to press they can or if they want to sit back and stay disicplined this is fine. their aim objetive is to prevent the attacking team from scoring with a secondary objective of winning the ball keeping possession and scoring.
