DESCRIPTION

Passing and driblling while under pressure. 

  • Red and yellows are opposite each other with a ball between two. 
  • Two blues are at the top of station with a football each and two blues are at the bottom of the station without football. 
  • On the coaches call, yellows and reds pass the ball between each other.
  • The blues with the footballs start dribbling to the blues at the other end of the station. 

Blues try and get through the channel of footballs without getting hit. Reds and yellows must make an effort to not hit the blues. 

COACHING POINTS

  • Reds and yellows must focus on  passing with accuracy and correct weight. 
  • Timing is crucial. Must scan the channel to see where the dribblers are.
  • Communication
  • On your toes.
  • Control with the intention of cushioning the ball in front of you. 
  • Use the surface most appropriate to the next pass. 

 

  • Dribblers should keep the ball close to their feet using small touches.
  • Should use all surfaces of their foot to manipulate the ball.
  • Eyes up so they can see the body language of the passers and to see where the footballs are. 

Have the passers count how many passes they can get without hitting a dribbler or without the ball going astray. 

Have the dribblers count how many times they got from one side to the other without getting hit.
