The drill starts with the player in the centre circle. He makes passes out to both flanks and the player in the penalty area in turn. Each receiving player is to take control of the ball and play a return pass to the centre circle. Receiving players are to remain in their coned areas in order to strive for accurate passes. The player starting the drill must remain within the centre circle.
Encourage firm, accurate passing and good body positioning whilst receiving and controlling passes.
Encourage both lofted aerial passes and passes along the ground.
Encourage passing with both feet.
Develop the drill into a set move whereby the ball starts at the centre circle out to a flank and then onto the central striker in the penalty area. In doing this remove the coned area restriction to allow all players more freedom of movement but staying in their general position.
