Rucking Practice
The aim of this drill is to work on the teams ability to ruck quickly and effectively.
The team is split into two teams of three with one dumper, dummy half and runner. The dumper starts off with the ball and takes three steps. Once the three steps are taken they must dump the ball so the dummy half can pick the ball up and quickly pass it to the runner. Once the runer receives the ball they must take three steps in front of the dummy half and then dump the ball. While the runner is moving to the front of the group, the dummy half must drop to the wing as the runner and the dumper must drop to dummy half. Once the teams can cover the whole field effectively it can be turned into a competition to see which team can make it back first.
