SKILL 2 – Snakes and Ladders: 10 Minutes


SET-UP: Place 2 agility ladders parallel apart facing the direction of the basket. Have 2 starting pancakes, and 2 scoring pancakes and place 3 cones before each ladder.


Make sure there is a pancake for each child to STAND ON while they wait their turn.


Explain the entire drill then explain it again by quizzing children to reinforce memory. e.g. What do I do first? 



  1. Both children start on the pancake without the ball. Children put their hands together in front of them, mimicking a snake. When the whistle blows, the first two children run around the 3 cones and perform fast feet through the ladder.
  2. When they get to the pancake, the coach hands them the ball, they do two dribble on the pancake then score a basket.
  3. After everyone has 2 turns, change fast feet to kangaroo jumps in each box.


EACH CHILD MUST HAVE MINIMUM = 2 TURNS


Finish with the stretching routine + stamps:

- One leg

- Other leg

- Double Leg
