Organization: Place stackable blocks at different heights along the wall underneath gym windows. Line Scholars up in even groups facing the stacked blocks.
Description: Upon Coach’s whistle, Scholars will step up to the blocks one by one and squat down before exploding upward and forward on to the block. They are to brace themselves against the wall if need be for safety. They will then turn around and step off of the block and return to the end of the line until it is their turn again.
Coaching Points: Scholars must concentrate on exploding upward with enough force to lift their bodies up and forward onto the block safely.
Progression: Scholars will progress by moving to a higher stack of blocks.
Learning Objectives:
Technical: Improve lower body coordination
Tactical: Improve kinesthetic sense
Physical: Lower body explosiveness
Psychological: Confidence
Social: Personal Goal Setting
