DESCRIPTION

Technical Recieving Drill:

X = player

R = Reciever

D= Defender

  • X passes to the R.
  • R stays inside of triangle until they recieve the ball.
  • after they recieve they must exit the triangle with the ball
  • can not exit through the same side the pass is made
  • The X takes the place of the R after they exit.

Progressions:

  • X puts pressure on the R as soon as they recieve by running at them into the triange.
  • add floating defenders, aiming to block exits of triangles

COACHING POINTS

Lesson Objective: To receive the ball ready to start an attack

  • Correct body positioning
  • Ensuring first touch is appropriate
  • Able to change speed  quickly from a standing position
